My old company got acquired by Ant Group a few months ago. It's funny how these events can prompt reflection. I was celebrating with my old boss, who I'd helped build the company with years back, and I realised that perhaps I'd learnt the wrong lessons from my time with him.
Enjoyed this @jamiemendola session - he articulated something I find often overlooked and he did it much better than I do with the words "operational alpha" - this industry isn't easy and we all have the scars to show for it - the shared lessons and candor are appreciated.

No question pricing pressure is indiscriminate in the sector. Having moved into a day-to-day role at $grusf, I can tell you my long-term bullishness relates to an operations-centric platform and passionate team that generates high returns on capital with discipline.
Pricing pressure is hurting the entire sector indiscriminately, $GRUSF no exception. Paying nearly 13x run-rate EBITDA for that though is what sticks out to me.

Haven't posted anything for my amateur writing project in a while. Reflecting on how much fun I'm having watching volleyball, the power of storytelling, reading up on the growing Abundance faction and other musings.
Cash flow is clearly relevant and part of "fundamentals", but limited license profits can prove to be a mirage over time -- the limited state-level disclosures makes it hard to understand real fundamentals that one would base a multiple on for valuation with confidence.
