Can I trust Musk to keep the X algorithm impartial in terms of politics, or his pet causes? I don't think I can. And so it's time to leave this place. You can find me on Bluesky and Threads. And via the website of course: analyticsunpacked.com

You know, it'd be really handy if Google Analytics let you download data in Excel format. I know, I know, Google wants us to use its tools rather than Microsoft's. I'm just tired of endlessly re-saving CSV files.

One nice side-effect of a low-ish-carbon website: it loads really fast.

There's nothing to taint a huge scientific success like sneaking the word 'AI' into the project name.

Google said its quantum computer needed less than 5 minutes to perform a mathematical calculation that one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers could not complete in 10 septillion years, a length of time that exceeds the age of the known universe. nyti.ms/3VvlB6b

I like to test untagged email links periodically, because sometimes a client has been running untagged campaigns and wants to (try to) understand the data.

Running experiments to check how Google Analytics handles attribution to the 'Email' channel right now. It's a tricky but valuable task.

What does event count mean in Google Analytics? Not a great deal, to be honest.

I think Google Analytics Custom Insights are down. Looking at my stats I should have have had some hourly insights triggered on the 18th. Instead nothing registered on the dashboard, and no email alerts were sent.

Grumbles about Google Analytics no. 13 - Why do explorations default to 10 rows? Does anybody ever want just want 10 rows? [sigh]

Watched Boyhood (2014) again at the weekend. It's a great film. Each time I watch, I seem to notice a different angle. This time I was struck by the echoes of earlier scenes in later the stages of the film.
