Back in the 8-bit Speccy days we had to design a multiple fonts for every demo production. All raster. Recently I ran into an issues of having consistent heading/captioning look across web, internal documentation, various applications, video and image captioning.

Learned more than expected about TrueType with all its kerning and hinting internals. Appreciate the amount of work one has to put into basic functioning font. The fact that TrueType runs a virtual machine with procedures and conditionals is fascinating.
