This is incredible! If college event can do it, how much more can a pro sport like athletics do. Tell us what they are doing right and what we are doing wrong @MJGold

I presented to two previous performance lead teams on the issues with the @BritAthletics selection policy, with support from 30+ elite athletes. One of the staff even accused me of manipulating data to suit my agenda🙃 I showed them an abundance of data from previous finalists...
1/ The @BritAthletics policy of only taking medalists and top 8 athletes is going to hinder not only an athletes development but also their chance to become full time athletes. I know that their policy standard (for a lot of events) is based on the IAAF standard.

I completely agree with this, but the truth of it doesn’t really come down to medal potential and how the governing body think it is best to develop athletes. It comes down to them saving as much money as possible to prevent bankruptcy. Smaller teams = lower expense.
. Thread . @AthleticsWeekly asks: Should UK Athletics send smaller elite teams of probable finalists & potential medallists to global championships? Or should they field as big a squad as possible to maximise development opportunities? *My thoughts over a few tweets :

Shout out @J_Ennis for defending athletes who should be at champs to gain experience after @GabbyLogan was trying to justify @BritAthletics decision to slim down & not give emerging athletes exp. We need to be mindful of the years of dedication athletes go through to reach champs
Rest in Peace 🙏🏼

Ten Hag spanking Arsenal and simultaneously humbling @piersmorgan, has made my day! #MUNARS
Benching @Cristiano for Elanga against Liverpool, even by current abysmal Manchester United standards, is one of the dumbest decisions in football history. Ten Hag should be fired for this alone if they get hammered tonight.. or should I say WHEN they get hammered.
