A felon can own a hospital. A chef can own a hospital. A lawyer can own a hospital. An insurance company can own a hospital. As of 2010 a physician may not own a hospital.
In Texas, and other states, only lawyers can own law firms. Any schlub can own a hospital.

Except for doctors taking their lives, this is a positive and rational trend. Our hearts go out to those physicians who saw no other way out. Medicine today probably harms more than it helps in so many ways.
Do you wonder why we have a physician shortage? I don’t. 117,000 physicians left medicine in ‘21 😢400 end their life each year And the pipeline of children of physicians choosing medicine is nearly dry.

The longer I practice the more I lose respect for many Hosp admin often making millions/yr and exploit their nurse and doctors for profit. More docs/nurses should leave places like this and leave admin to care for pts. Bad look when u have a police office and admin blocking
