This is just a WIP but I wanted to capture the process... the brand is dark, but this is probably "too much dark" for the UI. #wordpressdeveloper

The concept of ARC Gateway plugin. Register a collection, get 5 functional REST API routes. We need to add a nice inline testing tool, but for now users can test in PostMan. Routes come with inferred params, and 2 auth options (cookie auth, basic auth). #Gateway

Choices we have made in the start-up phase of building ARC Suite and the ARC Software business: 1) SureCart over WC or EDD. It has subs/licensing/affiliates all baked into 1 cohesive product! 2) Anime.js over GSAP. More complete and free, and in some ways easier to use.

Total agreement doesn't feel validating enough anymore.

Diagram of how #WordPress stores data with post types and meta. The simplicity of how WP stores posts and meta is brilliant... until you need to facet filter... or scale up... or have high volume of data or users. Then it goes from simple\brilliant to simple\stupid real quick.

WP Engine has refiled 6 of the 8 counts that were "dismissed with leave" in its lawsuit with Automattic/Mullenweg. searchenginejournal.com/wp-engine-vs-a…

ARC Blueprint #WordPress plugin now has Zod schema validation. We're closing in on a full process to create form: Model Reg (Eloquent) -> Gateway Collection (Auto-generates API Routes) -> Blueprint Form render. End result, rapid deployment of coded forms.

We refuse to pay $300 a year for a #WordPress forms plugin. Instead we will spend 5 grand on a custom solution that is objectively worse.

This kind of prompt (to Claude Code) would not be possible if our content was tucked away in a page builder. But because we have a custom WordPress them with page templates, and our menus are coded, we can change menus/pages/templates/content with a single prompt.

Credit to the Gutenberg devs who persevere despite the software being widely hated. They have succeeded in continuous improvement, making it viable for millions of users. It's still "not ideal" that Gutenberg, a 2.1 rated plugin is forced into core. But that's politics, not devs.

Do we even need UI's for humans anymore? Some software types might be better machine/automated by AI, alleviating the need to build and maintain a GUI. Documentation for example, humans can still edit it by prompting edits, exercising as much control as they want.

Some days it just feels like nothing works. My personal finance app can't connect to CIBC. X/Twitter payment for premium failed on every card I have. Amazon processed 2 orders, and then suddenly a security flag locked me out of the account. 0% transactional success rate.

Did you know keyboards can cost this much? This is Canadian dollars mind you... but still... I better be able to drop this off a building and have it survive.

In our view the "value of WordPress" is about $5,000. Meaning if your project budget is over 5K, you should not be using WordPress because you could either purchase Laravel or NextJS instead. Laravel with Filament admin will give you a better performing site around the 5k mark.
