As the space economy fully arrives it will need the kind of risk transfer tools long available in more mature sectors. Derivatives customized to the unique risks of doing business on orbit are a part of that future. financederivative.com/revolutionizin… #spaceeconomy

Shit like this is why making fun of England never stops being funny.

We are a nation of drivers. Most of us use a car every day and, for many, life would be difficult without their car. But too often, drivers feel under attack. That changes today with a long-term plan to improve drivers' experience on the road. Here’s how 👇🧵

In some of New York City’s most flood-prone neighborhoods, increasing permeable infrastructure from the current level of 2% of land to just 5% of land could prevent flooding. We can make our neighborhoods more resilient by replacing car space with green space.

This isn’t good. #parkslope flooding. Bumper cars.

Excellent summary and debunking of the reactionary freakout over 15 minute cities.

Alright, I’ve avoided it for too long, but with it back in my feed, I feel compelled to talk about it: the 15-minute city. There is no debate; it is decidedly NOT authoritarian, and should be a core proposal from any self-professed localist. 1/

Art school is amazing.

I can't share because it's an active assignment, but one of the projects I'm working on this semester involves researching a scrap of 18th century silk. I think I've got the thing almost all figured out, but also, it's incredibly cool that things like this are just study tools???

This is some dystopian shit. And a reminder that rogue ai is not an immediate threat the way dipshits superenabled with LLMs are.

Aesthetics are destiny

Because we have no foundation for other kinds of miracles

NSA can’t even keep basic secrets when employees go rogue that I highly doubt the government could keep spaceships and alien bodies a secret. Still waiting for any whistleblower to disclose the address of where the aliens are. Also, why are aliens always showing up in America?
