WorldAnchors with Apple Vision Pro are a bit insane, and all that complexity we saw from other platforms (which requires a LOT of code) are eliminated. 👉 Apple will persist your anchors automatically and a map is built in real-time for you, it will recognize your location and…
I agree this will raise awareness of the possible and Meta and others are well placed. AR can be useful but VR is escapism and perhaps people will choose that first.
The Apple headset is nothing but good news for @Meta. It validates the market, it'll help sell tons of Quests this xmas, and Meta still has something Apple doesn't: 30 million headsets. It'll take a while for Apple to catch up - but the space just became a LOT more interesting
First impression the #AppleVisionPro is not a direct competitor to the VR Headsets like #Oculus. It may raise the bar on resolution expected from VR headsets but it does not seem to be too VR focused in version 1.0 at least.
Look forward to seeing what I can build with @unity and visionOS for #AppleVisionPro. Definitely thoughts on “new ways of work” for productivity and collaboration.
My thoughts on #AppleVisionPro #WWDC2023 I haven’t seen it in reality so this is just based on the Key Note. Expensive Excellent Display It's an XR device focused on AR and Content Consumption. It looks weak on VR e.g. Body tracking / Avatars (social interaction) not discussed
I am enjoying relearning @unity on @JustinPBarnett VR Creator Academy course. With the newest VR headsets, the question if you should use VR for a use case will more and more become why not VR in 2023 I think. VR + AI = Magic
