I would like to have a nickel for each time someone in authority asked for feedback only to defend, deflect, or explain away every bit of feedback their subordinate colleagues gave. And this is not "bad managers" either, usually competent in every other way.
Help a stranger: if you see somebody fighting with their phone to pay for a coffee, or finding they do not have enough money for a bus fare, or just struggling with the day, try your best to help them. Seeing the stranger's stress evaporate is thanks enough.
Don't forget the middle and the far-left. Having free speech means you take the good with the bad. You don't have to like it, but you are free to not like it.
