44 years ago today, some would say 4 years too late. Nevertheless a good time was had by all. Also a beautiful full moon, waning acid trip ride to Brockport after for Mary's graduation.

OTD 48 years ago I saw my second Dead show at the New Haven Coliseum. While I was a fan for years, 1977 was when I became a head. Thanks to James Patterson Photography and JerryBase for the memory. jranderson.photoshelter.com/gallery/Gratef…

OTD 47 years ago at the Auditorium Theater in Rochester NY. One of my most memorable JBG shows. I know that I've posted these many times before but here they are again.

Snowy road trip from Brockport to Oswego. LSD. John Kahn sick, played in a bulky turtle neck. Show nearly canceled till the Oswego SA came through. Robert Hunter and an Eleanor Rigby jam. Frozen car and brand new kittens when we got home.

I'm one of this whole new generation.

50 years ago today, Old & In the Way’s debut album made its mark on bluegrass history! The supergroup introduced a whole new generation to the high-lonesome sound, blending tradition with the freewheeling spirit of the ’70s. Give it a spin and celebrate five decades of Old & In…

The very first concert in my local arena, the Broome Co arena, was headlined by Chicago. The opening act was Bruce Springsteen. I wasn’t there though.

Have you ever been to a concert where the support act went on to become famous?

I the 70's and early 80s we had the Hamburger Choo Choo in Huntington village. Saw it burn down in 1982.

Yeah, real modern technology. Hamburger Express on 73rd Avenue in Bayside was doing that literally more than 60 years ago.

Called it skitching on LI in the 70s and 80s. I wasn't always a "kid" when I did it.

When I was a kid growing up in Detroit we called this "Shagging." What did you call it when you were a kid?

I wish I could adequately explain to the younger set what a hilarious dinner this would have been to attend. (“Don’t spill the gravy!”) Anyway, have a terrific Thanksgiving and let’s all appreciate our many blessings however meager or plentiful, beginning with, hopefully, health.
