OK, you can only write with ONE type of pen for the rest of your life, which one are you picking? (ignoring the ink color)
I support anyone still playing 5E games, making 5E content and talking about 5E stuff as much as they like. We are not shunning or cancelling or harassing content creators folks. If you see it, call it out for what it is... bullying.
People are fighting whether or not to go back to D&D 5e. Do what you want, play the game that makes you happy. BUT - Don't forget that 3rd party publishers aren't a bargaining chip. We can't use them to threaten WotC then drop them when WotC surrenders. 🧵 1/7 #dnd #5e #WotC
“Chris Cao [...] doesn't play D&D, because according to him, he doesn't need to play it to understand what the community wants - he believes that his experience with MMO video games and mobile games is enough and it's all the same anyway.” If this is accurate, it explains a lot.
So my position is clear; #DnD OGL 1.2 is currently not acceptable. Too many dubious clauses, sneaky loopholes, & and too much power on WotC's side. We're in a contract negotiation right now, it will be a back -and-forth. What WotC does next is key, so stay vigilant.
The OGL 1.2 still contains all the dealbreakers. It now also contains the word “irrevocable,” as promised, but with a redefinition that makes the license revocable all the same. These are false concessions. Smoke and mirrors. The same old tricks with a new coat of paint.
Looking at OGL 1.2 it again and it's SO SNEAKY. In the post on #DnDBegone they say that the new license 'includes the word irrevocable'. That doesn't mean it **IS** irrevocable. Why? Because they CHANGED its definition 💀🐍
The one piece of GM advice that I think is pivotal to a good Blades in the Dark game but I don't see expressed often enough: Everything in the city was already owned before you showed up. As a GM principle: Consider Who Has Dibs (1/5)
Kinda hoping Stranger Things educates the newer #DnD fans on the satanic panic, and why so many of us are so horrified by their new moral panics and censoriousness. Doubt it though.
Hi @GamesHandiwork How does this align with your research on Beowulf?

Fun looking.

so my day job is sourcing rare books across the centuries, and you know the most difficult thing I find to source? tabletop rpg books for my own shelves no-one keeps any notes. print runs of like 25 copies. this industry is only a few decades old and its a bibliographic MESS
A reminder that TTRPG Twitter is always mad about something. It’s impossible to keep up with all of it, and you’ll just drive yourself crazy trying to do so. The best thing to do is play TTRPGs and don’t worry about the drama. It’s a hard lesson to learn—trust me—but a handy one.
Pssst. Pssst. Hey you, c’mere. It’s WARDUKE WEDNESDAY! By Matthew Kresge and Aaron J Riley respectively. #WareukeWednesday
I read this thread and I have a lot of questions. First up, is the "X card" in this case being put down by the referee or a player? If it's the referee, we have a problem. X-cards do not require justification, you don't have to say WHY you put down an X-card...

Yet it is depicted as the "mature" approach. This is the opposite of mature adults talking out issues. If you have issues with in game practices talk to the players around you, discuss the issues and work them out. There will be cases where the referee and the group did not...
This is, "it is morally wrong to loot corpses, so I'm objecting to it in this game", so the person isn't triggered or traumatized, they are offended. And rather than TALKING TO THE TABLE about this, they throw out a "you don't get to ask why X-Card".
... and now it is manifesting at the table. The ironic part of all this is that the very people who are howling at this idea of X-Carding looting would NEVER HAVE THIS PERSON AT THEIR TABLE. Old-school "session 0" would filter out this sort of player easily.
