Prior to depression being manufactured as "major depressive disorder" it was considered episodic & would resolve itself in time w/ support & some changes. Some required professional help..most did not. Severe & Chronic Depression was rare. Now it's apparently an epidemic
I am so saddened & quite frankly angry when I think how many lives have been lost due to the manufacturing of emotional pain as a brain disorder. So many people, particularly young people, needed to understand their emotions in context, required support got a pill instead
