Happy World Bee Day! Did you know that there are over 20,000 known species of bees worldwide? In Canada alone, there are over 800 species of native bees that play an important role in wildflower and crop pollination. Take our Pollinator Pledge to learn how you can support them!

Happy world bee day! Did you know the vast majority of bees in the world nest alone on the ground (no hive, queen or workers). Many species, like these Diadasia, build nests in large aggregations I like to call bee neighborhoods

#PollinatorWeek day 6. Today we feature @clementfkent1. Public outreach by BEEc researchers L. Packer, @AmroYorkU @sanrehan @SaveWildBees inspired him to build native plant gardens. Helping native pollinators, he turned this into a larger scale, community-led program. (1/5)

The Niagara region is flooded with feral honey bees. These bees with a new queen will be looking for a new home. By offering your back yard or garage roof, we can come & place a swarm trap (bee box) when the bees swarm they will move into this box safely! DM us for more info!

Although many of our lab members focus on #bees, other insects play important #pollination roles as well! Only one of the insects below is a 🐝, although both are pollinators. Take a look at the photos and vote for which you think is the bee in the poll below! ❓🐝🤔
