A5: You have to prioritize what to focus on and give it 100% of your attention and efforts! As evidenced by our MAP data this year... paring down what we taught did not a have a negative impact on the knowledge our students gained. #SMSspartanchat

A3: Biggest challenges... lack of trust with one another blocks the vulnerable conversations, focusing on the negative instead of the solution, and getting too caught up in the day-to-day instead of the tasks/agenda at hand. #SMSspartanchat

A1: A team is made up of members who work together towards a common goal and can have real and raw conversations about what's really happening in the classroom. #SMSspartanchat

A2: After trust has been established, teams need to focus on celebrations and needs. What lead to the celebrations and how we can address the needs. #SMSspartanchat

Getting ready for a great conversation today with the colleagues I could not have survived this year without!

This week I was able to share my beginning fumblings re: Twitter with Pam and my much-more-comfort-zone knowledge about Google and YouTube with Nate. #SycoPLC

I have learned this week that I work with an amazing group of passionate teachers who do great things for kids on a daily basis. I’ve gone outside my 7th grade “bubble” and it’s definitely something I need to do more often! #sycoplc

Other challenge changes include adding a “Do now” to utilize class time, reflecting on lessons on a daily basis as to not forget things that went well or need tweaks, and altering seats on a daily basis to promote communication with everyone, not just a few. #SycoPLC

Our 8th grade math teachers have flipped their classrooms this year allowing students time in class to work on practicing the skills and application questions that used to be a struggle at home. #SycoPLC

Our school psychologist have revamped how our MTSS meetings are run. There is now better communication with instructional teachers and interventionists to enhance student learning! #sycoplc

our art teachers have revamped rhe 7th grade curriculum to include 3D mediums. They continue to tweak what they are doing each quarter upon reflections to continue making the projects better. #sycoplc

Our 6th grade ELA teachers have incorporated reading days into their instruction time. Students can either read independently or follow along while listening to the audiobook. Students have been more engaged in discussions & have written better responses as a result! #SycoPLC

Our 7th grade English/literature teachers have found our students needed more practice on Prefixes. They developed practices and projects to help students better understand what they’re reading. #SycoPLC
