When I was in the worst place of my life and was self-harming everyday, it was never about wanting to die. I was hurting myself because I was trying to stay alive. That in itself can be so hard to understand

Autism Speaks is a hate group. ABA is torture. We shouldn’t be trying to “cure” Autism.

Type 1 diabetes is a gateway disease into eating disorders and endos/nutritionists don't acknowledge it enough

I’ve stopped calling it medical malpractice and started calling it what it truly is, medical abuse/torture bc that’s what it truly is half the time. My medical kidnapping was medical torture. 🤷

If you respond to factual statements about the disturbing reality of the psychiatric industry with any variation of "I/someone I know was helped by psychiatry" you're not safe for psych survivors to be around or organize with

Persecutors are actually chill asf when you don’t got a bitch in your ear telling you they’re all evil alters or smth

Lately there’s been a lot of misinformation going around that “plurality” is just a word for DID/OSDD. It’s not! Plurality is not a medical term. It was invented by and for the plural community. It is not and never was exclusive to those with DID or OSDD. 🧵 #systwt #pluralgang

Nondisabled person : “Your wheelchair prevents you from getting in.” Disabled person: “The lack of a ramp prevents me from getting in.” Stop blaming disabled people for inaccessibility.

I’m really tired of the narrative where patients who are “violent” are viewed as aggressive monsters while doctors are upheld as passive bystanders and innocent victims of violence— when for SO many of us, the medical providers ARE the perpetrators of violence.

The first time I was assaulted, I was a 3rd year medical student, and a psych patient handcuffed to a gurney rail in the ER fought so hard, the entire metal rail (still cuffed to his arm) separated from the bed. The 6ft piece of heavy steel would’ve gone flying into my skull…

I hate that as a schizophrenic I get lumped with conspiracy theorists. I think my neighbour's dog is a spy bc I'm ill & conspiracy theorists think Jewish ppl are an alien race holding a dictatorship over "normal ppl" bc they're racist. Do NOT put me in the same box with them

Remembering how it felt watching these idiots write down what they ate so the body gets its calorie intake and they all do it in the venting chat 🙄/lh

Here’s to the people who's trauma did not give them thick skin. The ones who became more sensitive & insecure, who cry more easily, who get overwhelmed at small things. I’m so tired of the narrative that trauma makes you tough and untouchable. We’re survivors, not superheroes

I can’t believe I used to tell myself as a young teen “stop pretending you’re plural” bc we had fictives and other “cringy” system experiences and didn’t want to mock real systems 💀. Clearly it did not work lol and I’m glad I got out of that internalized ableist mindset.

Do people realise that autistic adults were once autistic children? That just because we’re alive and communicating doesn’t mean we didn’t develop completely differently to everyone else, haven’t been traumatised at every stage of life and not constantly managing burnout. 🤦🤷‍♀️
