The BPFTA 2026 commemoration event will take place in Brussels and Paris, where we will visit key WW2 escape line locations. The Escape Line 'tour' will be by public transport and/or on foot. The event will be in early May 2026. Details will be available on our website shortly.

Florentino Goikoetxea Beobide (right) at an award ceremony for his participation in the Comet Line network, where he escorted downed and injured Allied (British) airmen across the Pyrenees to safety, via secret escape routes, eventually leading to their repatriation to Britain.
Florentino: one of the brave mountain guides, who accompanied downed British airmen across the perilous Pyrenees mountain range in WW2. If bravery had faces, he would surely be one of them.
