Thanks to everyone who shares their work in whatever state it's in. You are super inspiring to me, every day.
roses are red, violets are blue, we've just posted several new gameplay engineering roles for my team that are all bucketed under the same job posting ALSO these roles are remote flexible and i would love to work together, sorry this is a bad valentine riotgames.com/en/work-with-u…
I've been learning to crochet, and the kiddo requested a honey slime from @slimerancher, so here's what I came up with:
The project I'm on is still unannounced but we're hiring Tools Engineers, and a Tools Eng/Game Designer Hybrid position. It's an awesome game & team in an exciting space so if you've never considered Riot, now's a great time to do so. If this sounds like you, ping me for info!
Curious what folks prefer for effectiveness of building hobby projects or prototypes. If you made an engine or a framework, how do you maintain it across projects? Is everything just divergent and old stuff slowly rots? Spend time keeping it all up to date?
Neo is The One but the Matrix is Unity
Star Trek, but instead of saying "computer", they say "ok google" or "alexa"...
Saw some videos about arranging model furniture to maximize feng shui in small spaces and it got me wondering if that would make for a good puzzle game #gameidea
Spent a couple hours writing a bunch of parametric sequences to make this 2D card flip look kind of 3D. Not really making anything in particular, just messing around to see if I can make cards in 2D look cool. #gamedev
Unity's premium learning offering is free now. Just thought you might like to know.
My #LDJAM entry is published! There's a non-zero chance I end up changing something between now and the deadline, but I'm pretty happy with this: ldjam.com/events/ludum-d… #gamedev
Adding nutrient flow to the cellular automata ended up being tricky. Probably should have found a better way to achieve the same effect. Ended up making a quick cell debug overlay to see the flow of "nutrients". #LDJAM #gamedev
Coding without source control feels like a doing a run in a roguelike with permadeath enabled. #LDJAM #gamedev
I probably went a bit overboard on polish, but now you can cut vines, which makes a hand come in and collect flowers for "points". The leaves also fall. Next up, some kind of pressure or failure condition. #LDJAM #gamedev
First pass at flower rules. Really happy with what a bit of random rotation on elements does to make this scene look pleasant. #ldjam46 #gamedev
First pass at leaf growing. I should probably add some kind of actual player interaction at some point, haha. Feels like good progress for the first day, though. #LDJAM #gamedev.
Definitely having fun tonight. I got the sprite selection based on neighbor direction to work on the first try! #LDJAM #gamedev
