On April 22, 1993, Mosaic 1.0 became publicly available. This was the first web browser with a Graphical User Interface that could work with various computer systems. All previous attempts could only work with one specific platform.

April 15, 1977 was the opening of the first West Computer Faire. Over 12,000 people lined up to get into this event which was one of the first looks many people got at computers for personal use. Featured items were the Apple II, the Commodore PET, and the Radio Shack TRS-80.

Way back on March 31, 1951, the first UNIVAC computer began being used by the US Census Bureau. It was one of the first computers to move from the punch cards to electronic data storage.
