Last night I received this avowedly anti-Semitic tweet. I reported the account to @Twitter who said there was nothing wrong with it. And that is the issue right there. If twitter thinks this kind of thing is just fine, why shouldn’t main stream political parties let it pass too?
Now the fishing industry is being given a mauling because it doesn’t fit ‘remain ‘values . The rejoicing of its turmoil is sickening . This is a national resource of such value. Food security and the health of our coastal communities should be a priority.
It makes my heart warm to watch Facebook’s stock collapse under the weight of their own hubris. And it’s hilarious that Mark Zuckerberg’s genius idea for stalking people at Harvard was only useful for perpetrating a fascist uprising. It comprehensively damns technocrats.
The ways we subsidise massive supermarkets are shocking. Working tax credits for example, enable the supermarkets to underpay staff whose salary is then topped up by the govt. Low salaries means better margins and share holder returns. Subsidised by tax payers.
As a Brit working on the common agricultural policy was good to hear acknowledgement from @jayrayner1 that EU trying to address failures of the policy. Partic liked point about Brits being too used to cheap food - this one reason why EU pays farmers, because supermarkets don't!
