This gutted me a little, I’m not gonna lie. Paul bled Mariner blue for years. I’d venture to guess he’d imagined a moment like this a couple times, but never imagined being in the visitor’s dugout. His fingerprints are still on this team. Nothing but love for Sewald forever.

His fingerprints are still on this team. Nothing but love for Sewald forever.

Non-Mariner fans in the replies just repeating his b-ref page with zero understanding of what his time in Seattle meant to both him and the M’s bullpen oh we have really left our target audience

once your tweet passes a certain threshold of retweets you’ll start getting replies that are like “I don’t get this joke. Why did you tweet it at me. Are you the person who keeps calling me”

I don't feel too bad for a young man that's a multimillionaire from playing a kids game, part time

That sucks, but you know, that’s what happens when you want more money than what a GM can actually offer. I love him, but this was coming.

What are you talking about

(and now we have to face Ty France in the next series 😭)

shhhhhhh he’s been on the IL so I’m in denial that that will be a thing

Most people guess wrong about themselves. Take the quick test and find out the truth in 2 minutes.

the paul sewald trade is possibly the best trade we ever made. we got a good stopgap 3B, a future solid 2B, and a great RF/DH all for an aging reliever

Not close to the best trade ever but I agree it was a good trade! Doesn’t change anything I said!

I wish Sewald’s time here in Arizona finished better. He seems like a great guy and did great for us until the 2023 World Series. Unfortunately his performance in that series and in 2024 left a horrible taste in everyone’s mouth. Sad his career is finishing like this

Agreed. He’s a top tier human. And was an absolutely lethal reliever for us. He’s a big reason we got where we did in 22

It's a business, but man, I have almost nothing but good memories of Sewald.

Yup, totally.

will always be a Sewald fan.

One of the best guys in the game

Who cares? He’s a tiger?

I care! Thanks for asking!

The mariners have the corniest fan base in sports

So true! So proud!

Paul Sewald is ass. Always has been.

You’re wrong.

I had no idea he played for them lol this hurts me bc I absolutely rallied behind this guy.

lol! Met him at spring training the year after his WS run with the Diamondbacks… said he was so happy to be out of Seattle.

Don’t worry he got the chance to blow World Series game 1 for us in 2023

Felt. In the midst of my elation, I had to see an old friend watch his former team celebrate in part because he was pulled after only 47 pitches. It’s gotta be surreal. x.com/TalkinBaseball…

Jose Berrios watches as his former team wins their first playoff series in 20+ years

This is a tough one. It’s what happens when we get attached to players. I didn’t see that tonight- tall people in front of me. We stood most of the game.

"Bled Mariner blue for years" Bro is on his 5th team in 8 years, I honestly thought he was still on the Diamondbacks until this post. 🤣

We appreciate his efforts in the 2023 postseason in Arizona. It’s bittersweet being eliminated by many of your previous teammates, even after being on the other side of these moments just 2 years ago.
