English, Kannada, Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu, Marathi, Greek, Gurmukhi(Punjabi), Tamil. Likely In that freq. Should add Cyrillic 🧐 Trying to read Tamil and Gurmukhi by writing known words, but Tamil isn’t phonetic 🙃 so this isn’t a good method. Gurmukhi just too strange.

Few realize how important it is to simply “love the game”. When you love the game, everything becomes 10x easier, you want to win even more and you play for life. You actually have no chance at winning if you don’t love the game. You need to love the game.

More kannadigas are made than born. This is always the way.

My kids are 3/4th Telugu, 1/4th Tamil and 100% Kannadiga.

The medical insurance machinery in US chokes entrepreneurs, and families alike.

Insurance specifically health insurance. Many companies never grow beyond one person LLC because they can’t afford to bring on anyone outside the family as a full time employee. It is celebrated as the “spirit of X” or whatever. It isn’t. Just crushing weight of private ins

If you don’t have VC money to burn, & are bootstrapping, there was never a better time to be a solo founder in “software”/SaaS. You can realistically double or triple your runway if you are using AI aggressively. Non-software-tech startups can push off hiring their first SWE

the math is wild when you break it down. like for every $100k salary you're actually burning $150k+ when you factor in everything most startups dont realize they need ~$500k ARR just to afford their first hire without going broke. thats why so many founders stay solo way longer…

Now that I'm an entrepreneur, it's insane how successful a business needs to be to hire talented full-time employees. The total cost is staggering.

Responding to incentives is an easy thing to do. Many smart people leave too much money on the table because they think it’s beneath them to play “normie” games. If you don’t need these incentives, good. Not knowing them and flailing? That’s on you.

A friend of mine works at one of the largest IT companies in India and she just completed a Gen AI course in an hour by clicking next button 100s of times and now she is part of a GenAI ready workforce! Proud of her :)

Prof VK (also an accomplished mrudanga player) was polling students in his class what our future aspirations were. I said “To study CFD at IISc”. “Do you think you’ll have the grades to get there?” I probably made a mental note to get better at programming instead 😅

9-5 👷‍♂️ and 9-5 😴 Easy, Simple and symmetric.

When I was a kid, bedtime was 9 pm. I couldn't wait to be a grownup so I could go to bed anytime I wanted. Turns out that is 9 pm.

It is shocking, shocking! to see a very reasonable, (and educational) response to FIL-C by the creator of Rust. Who woulda thunk?

Good stuff. Which of this was not known in say 2005 or even 1995?

wrote this a while ago, curious if it still holds - are your db and app on the same network? if not, move them - measure your query performance in prod - describe + analyze slow queries - optimize the query - add indexes to tables - optimize write operations as much as possible…
