So, its theme is "Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort." It's not ugly, but it's not "themed" in the classic Disney themed sense of the word, which spoils the environment created by Imagineers for the Polynesian Village.

NEW: Disney shared a first look inside the guest rooms at the upcoming Island Tower addition at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Disney also announced the hotel is set to open on Dec. 17, 2024.

In reality, there is not a huge difference between a 15 minute wait and 45 minutes or even an hour. It takes a pretty specific condition or disability for that additional wait to cause significant distress on someone.
For those with other conditions, well now apparently you will have to wait in that line and if an urgent need to leave the line occurs you will have to navigate your way out, and then at what point are you supposed to talkto a CM about skipping the iline?
Disney will also introduce a defined "return to queue" process for guests who need to leave a queue and re-enter. More information about this process will be shared closer to launch of the new system.
