The #EP24 elections in Germany saw 28% of young voters (16-24) choose "other", i.e. small parties not represented in the Bundestag. Especially CDU/CSU and SPD did terribly. Matches prior @d_part research: young people are often interested but feel ignored by established parties.

Lowering the voting age to 16 is a good idea, according to a lot of empirical research. Nothing bad happens with #VotesAt16, but, implemented well, it provides an opportunity to enhance electoral and civic engagement of young people. Some key findings from #Vote16 research:
