PSE is working hard restoring power across the region. If you come across any down power lines assume they are live and stay back 30+ feet and call PSE or 911 to report burning lines. @PSETalk
We’ve brought in additional crews & have a full complement of damage assessment teams, road crews, tree crews & hundreds of support staff. We have also dispatched helicopters to assess damage where conditions have made ground access difficult to impossible. #wawx #wawind
Crews have made great progress today, repairing damaged equipment and restoring power around the area. Since the peak of the storm, we’ve restored power to 225,000 customers and as of 11 p.m., approximately 84,000 customers are without power.
While we're working as quickly as we safely can, we expect that some customers may be without power for multiple days due to the severity of the damage to our system. Crews will continue restoration efforts around the clock until all customers are back on.
There are often logistical challenges for our crews and their equipment during a storm. Damage and debris can make roads and neighborhoods impassable. Those areas must be cleared before we can move in and begin our assessment and restoration work.
Here’s some images from around Southeast King County, Maple Valley, Black Diamond and Enumclaw areas. Working to restore communications around the clock. @KING5Seattle @ComcastWA @komonews @KIRO7Seattle @Q13FOX
