Second baseman Jeff Kent was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Contemporary Baseball Era committee. He will be inducted in July. Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Don Mattingly, Dale Murphy and three others did not receive sufficient votes.
Kent, who I believe belongs in, was at best the fifth best player on the ballot here. When do we all just admit the @baseballhall is a popularity contest and nothing more?
