After running several different experiments for months, we expected something to break, but nothing did. Nobody even noticed! Confident of the safety of this powerful concept, we worked with the @cdnjs team to run a connection coalescing experiment. blog.cloudflare.com/connection-coa…
This is cool. We added cdnjs on the certificate for four thousand sites that use it, and gave them a single IP to see how connections would be reused. We saw 78% fewer TLS connections to cdnjs, which means lower CPU cost and better privacy. Oddly, no clear page load time boost.
