I shipped my first ever SAAS! 👇 transcriby.io — video transcription for TikTok, IG Reels, and YouTube. Short-form or long-form. Super simple: 1. paste link 2. get transcript 3. reuse anywhere (esp. good context for LLMs) Would love feedback 📷

Free trials are awesome… until people start abusing them with 10 emails 😭 What do you do to protect against users like this? I really don't want to add a hard paywall, but I might need to... Can't keep bleeding money like this

Passing on a good quote for whoever may need it today 😇 “Say Yes, and then figure it out.” We get stuck in analysis paralysis a lot. It makes sense, a lot of people here have big brains. But when you yes, you act instead of think. And when you act, progress is inevitable.

Segment your users before sending an outreach email! Tailored messages get replies. Generic ones get ignored. I segmented transcriby (tiktok transcriber) into three buckets: 1. Users who signed up but never made a transcript 2. Users who made exactly one transcript then

Day 5 of instructing my LLM to generate migrations through the ORM, not write them manually… 🥀🥀 I added it as a skill in my cursor setup, but it still generates them. Any tips on helping LLMs actually use skills without me instructing them to?

Day 30 of Building in Public 🚢 A big UI change in my SaaS (Transcriby) improved the % of people that use my SAAS after signing up from 15% → 83% 🥳 I watched session recordings and found the drop-off point. The fix was to make the app painfully obvious to use. Posted

My new favorite setup for hitting +50 replies a day X on the left, a simple counting app on the right. I've always been a sucker for counters.

No the algorithm doesn't suck, you just didn't respond 250 times today

Day 28 of Building in Public: Marketing heavy day of reaching out to all my users. I segmented my users into a few buckets so the emails feel a bit more personalized. Started doin some more research for my B2C skincare app. I realized I can use transcriby to get information

One tiny thing just slashed my storage costs in half. I realized my audio bitrate was way overkill for speech-to-text. Dropped it down → nearly 50% lower storage costs with no real downside. Pareto Principle for the freaking win!
