For a few years, the World Boxing Super Series was universally lauded by fans, fighters and media as boxing utopia (best v best; 10pm main events!). Then, it was quietly fucked off, barely spoken of again, and those involved pivoted to a weird, obnoxious boxing derivative.
It's the annual real Boxing guy's list. A disclaimer, one of the guy's is not 24/7/365, & it's duly noted. In no particular order. 1. Brad Goodman (HOF Inductee) 2. Sean Gibbons 3. Eric Gomez 4. Felix "Clovis" Zabala 5. Garry Jonas 6. Daniel Rubin, but not 24/7/365.…
Someone should, I think, have a quiet word with the newer MCs on how to announce judges' scorecards the correct way when verdict is a split or majority. A few kind words would do it, no need to make anyone feel bad about anything.
Was watching a 1960s fight the other day. Don Dunphy's style of restrained, minimalist, low-key commentary will never, ever be heard again. That style of commentary isn't what producers want today.
