In FP&A, Excel is still king. A lot of the workload in FP&A roles require gathering data and inputs from several sources and humans. Combining that data in Excel and regularly updating it quickly and modeling it accurately is a non negotiable.
Watching my first Bears game this year. They gamble worse than 0DTE Option traders
Really need to chat with @_masterinvestor on this $META chart. Looking forward to meeting you at $NVDA campus
$AMZN finally takes off this week. The set up is there Rate cuts China solved (for now) Earnings Blue Jay robot PR going viral the same weeks the Blue Jays are in the World Series (this matters in this day in age) Bounced cleanly off 200 day
Are there any tools out there to help manage SAAS contractual commitments where finance, accounting, Procurement etc can collaborate on for reporting and disclosure purposes? The processes I’ve seen to date are super hacky cc: @SecretCFO @brett_finance
Why is cloud cost forecasting so hard for Finance professionals? There's a huge learning curve to understand engineering at a high level. Getting up to speed quickly is essential. One tip I have is to get close to a few key engineers that understand cost
Headcount planning is such a pain point for FP&A teams. We’re in a time of cost constraints and having to tell high level execs that the budget isn’t requires possessing the right soft skills. A CEO that can set reality for its executive team is such a strength
If your FP&A teams don’t have a strong Accounting foundation, a material blind spot exists that can come back to bite you during an audit. There’s nothing more frustrating then when a teammate doesn’t understand debits and credits using the accrual method.
Google’s Gemeni along with other LLM use massive amounts of computing power. I can only imagine what the cost of each query is on these organizations. It’s more important than ever to figure out how to reduce this spend to manage costs effectively as monetization is rolls out
