I have been running D&D 5E for my weekly game group for about 8 years now. We know the system well and have found what we like and what we don’t. Now we are giving Pathfinder 2E a try and I have to say, I love the skill and action mechanics. Customization is 🔥. Nice work @paizo!
How does one find a d&d group? I've always thought it sounded fun! Can I be a fairy princess or something? 😅
Local game stores are a great place to start when it comes to looking for a group. Many stores have D&D nights that are open play. It’s how I met the people that ended up being the foundation of my current group that’s lasted 8 years!
I had only been running 5e for 6 years, but have had a very similar experience! And as a GM, boy is it nice to have the encounter budgets be so tightly balanced as opposed to CR in 5e. Makes my job SO much easier.
Totally agree on the budgets. So good!!
Same boat, I wanted a system that would make weapons feel more unique and am preparing to switch. I run a low magic world so will be using the alternate rules.
Yeah. This was what I instantly found that I like once trying 2E. Melee classes were fun again. There were options to expand abilities and do cool things both in and out of combat. It will be interesting to see how this affects One D&D.
