So a friend of mine was complaining about how hard it is to get a hostel in his uni So I decided why don't I build a site which helps in looking for apartments for students in universities But how do I monetize it 🤔 What do you think
I feel you should check for a demand then apartments should list availability on the platform The apartment owners get their money from the students through the platform and you take a certain commission
If you getting high traffic, a possible starting point to monetization would be ads If you later begin to better understand your ICP and product offering, you will probably find a way to then add a pricing model to it
Check first if there is actual demand for it. Your friend has that problem, sure, but would he pay to use it? Would he turn online to find a tool that helps? Would services advertise themselves on such site? There are a lot of unknowns, but if it works out, a pricing model will…
Commission on bookings, landlord verification subscriptions, or freemium with premium features for landlords. But first validate demand. Get 100 actual signups before worrying about monetization. Revenue follows traction
Build a website that solves your friend's problems! I hope that product or experience will turn into revenue for you someday!
