Reliability @OpenAI. Previously @OrbitalSidekick, @AWS. I build stuff in the cloud and have strong opinions about it.
What a way to end the week. But also massively proud of all the progress we've made over the past year.
chatgpt went down for 30 mins today :( we are much, much better at reliability than we used to be, but clearly more work in front of us. (it is now the 8th biggest website in the world according to similarweb--we have had a lot of work to do these past two years!)
My #SEV0 talk recording is live! Thanks again to the team at @incident_io for having me. Credit to my daughter for painting my nails the night before 🤣 sev0.com/sessions/maint…
I could be on the healthiest grocery trip of my life, but if I see these mfers in the checkout line I will fold IMMEDIATELY.
Advanced Voice is AWESOME. Has been an absolute delight to be testing over the last few months.
Advanced Voice is rolling out to all Plus and Team users in the ChatGPT app over the course of the week. While you’ve been patiently waiting, we’ve added Custom Instructions, Memory, five new voices, and improved accents. It can also say “Sorry I’m late” in over 50 languages.
Thank you to @incident_io for having me and the #SEV0 audience for listening to me. Go forth and have more incidents.
Loving all the practical takes and framing on postmortems from @codebrewed at OpenAI today here at #SEV0 🙌
Incredibly proud to be part of this team!
here is o1, a series of our most capable and aligned models yet: openai.com/index/learning… o1 is still flawed, still limited, and it still seems more impressive on first use than it does after you spend more time with it.
My daughter is now old enough to play Monopoly. She asked me today: "Dad, how does the bank lose?" We had a really rough conversation about capitalism...
"Daddy, who's that in that picture?" "Oh sweetheart, that's your Uncle Jensen. He's the reason we can afford to send you to college" $NVDA
born to say "wtf why did you do this" forced to say "can i please get more context on this decision"
It is absolutely wild to me we used to get floppy disks in the mail and just slot em in like it was our last day on Earth
I've now received $100 in donations for fck-nat.dev. I've sold products before, but I've never put a thing out into the world and asked people to pay what they want for it. This is a small, but massively meaningful milestone. Thank you.
For the record, Goose is doing great.

Committing to your rebrand in the middle of a huge controversy and announcing it with a video that brags about the accomplishments of the community you've absolutely shafted is a hell of a choice. Also who gives a fuck about your brand awareness?
One of the most important parts of building a culture around operational excellence is to provide positive reinforcement to people involved in incidents. I know it's simple, but it doesn't happen enough.
My dad doesn't know that Starship Troopers is satire. This is not a drill.
