This past week, Sara McGinty and Najmul Hossain were proud to represent CODE at the #2025ADEATriennale in Ghana. They shared insights from our TLFC project in Liberia and Sierra Leone, highlighting how localized, sustained teacher development is driving measurable improvements.
Yesterday, our very own Julie Donohue-Kpolugbo joined a panel hosted by @thebookalliance and the @WorldBank. Her insights reinforce that innovation is reimagining how texts can be used in classrooms holistically for foundational literacy. #EducationForAll #LiteracyMatters
Thanks to our generous donor @reallavergne, CODE, Caritas, and Children’s Book Organisation were able to procure and distribute 4,000 books to primary-school students across Goma and the surrounding region in the DRC. #EducationForAll #LiteracyMatters #AidWorks
On #WorldTeachersDay, we celebrate teachers like Kadijatu in Sierra Leone. Our TLFC project has allowed her to collaboratively build her skills to improve foundational literacy through gender-responsive, child-centred learning. Teachers change lives. Let's keep supporting them.
On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we reflect on the vital role of education in healing and justice. The TRC’s Calls to Action 6–12 remind us that equitable, culturally grounded education is essential for reconciliation. #NationalDayforTruthandReconcilliation
Amid rising global uncertainty and conflict, Canada has a chance to lead with #Budget2025 — by protecting international assistance, honouring its commitments, and proving that global engagement is not a luxury but a necessity. @DarronPeritz @iPoliticsCA ipolitics.ca/2025/09/14/as-…
Our GALI-X project concluded the 24-25 academic year with a remarkable 98% promotion rate, with the majority of girls advancing two grades. GALI-X’s success will help these girls well into the future — and foster local resilience in their communities. 📸 Hassan Bangura
To recognize #LiteracyDay, CODE is excited to announce a new partnership with @FoglioBooks. They've committed to donate 10% of every publishing package sold to our GALI Program in Liberia, which gives over-age girls a second chance at completing their education.
Literacy is more than the ability to read and write; it’s the key to opportunity and a better future. Yet millions of children lack the resources and education they need. On this #LiteracyDay, we ask you to take action, to support and stand for every child's right to learn.
For Magesa, a third grader at Kiningina Primary School in Tanzania, storybooks brought more than just improved reading skills – they transformed school itself. It became a place of joy, curiosity, and discovery. A place where children want to be every single day.
Confidence and belief are the keys to achieving remarkable results. With programs like GALI, we are not just closing learning gaps — we are paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future.
