I think people underestimate udemy because of how accessible they’ve made education. Since they’ve not hidden content behind an admission list and a 100k school fees, people fail to see the value they created.

Udemy is a product targeted at the mass market. When it comes to quality of courses, it is really low. I only use them for non technical courses that dont change, eg ITIL, Project and Product related courses....

Exactly. Because it’s accessible and affordable, people assume it’s low value. Meanwhile, the same skills that universities teach for huge fees are right there on Udemy — and anyone, from anywhere, can learn and earn with them. Accessibility isn’t a weakness, it’s the real…

Many of the courses are outdated trash.

Udemy anytime anyday!

Not exactly. The problem is not democratization, it is content ranking. LinkedIn learning faces the same challenge. A related, though slightly different, issue is what went wrong with aCloudGuru before acquisition also.

Udemy is great, most people are just too lazy to actually consume the content on there properly

Udemy is a great platform, but I think they should consider removing the total course hours from their certificates. E.g, I spend a week learning and practicing a course, yet the certificate only shows “7hrs.” Recruiters might undervalue the effort and learning behind it.

Udemy is great but with AI you may not necessarily need the contents you’d get from udemy courses, you would likely need experience from actually doing and learning from others than udemy course can give you. Nothing beats 5hour of trying different ways to solve a problem.

Right now, I'm using udemy to learn data science and I can say I have never been more educated on data science, artificial intelligence and deep learning. I use YouTube too. Andrew Ng to be precise but they are all theoretical, Udemy 365 courses real gems

It’s an amazing resource best course I ever took was on it

Only a lazy and unfocused person would think Udemy is Mid level.

The quality isn’t really there for most of the courses and the certificate is not really something a recruiter would see and feel like you have gotten something tangible

As a developer , Udemy open us to things that where not easily accessible by non professionals

Their problem is indiscipline. I've taken approx. of 7 courses and finished them.

Yes. Yes! Learned most of the stuff I know from there. Then build projects after. So many gems on there.

Bro udemy really helped me
