The West Coast and California in particular have more "freshwater" (ideological/idealistic) politics, while the East Coast is more "saltwater" (pragmatic, constraint-driven) and East Coast politics are quite a bit more robust because politics is a saltwater business.

While as a father I certainly understand President @JoeBiden’s natural desire to help his son by pardoning him, I am disappointed that he put his family ahead of the country. This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later Presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation.…

A failed president who incited a coup attempt and then was found liable of sexual assault and then was convicted of felonies won the popular vote and electoral college. I still haven’t seen a satisfactory explanation. Probably never will.

The U.S. government spends 37% more than it makes, with ~$36TN in national debt. Consider the analogy on an individual scale: a family that makes $80k/year while spending $110k, with a $525k mortgage & $35k car loan requiring $30k+/year in interest payments. It’s not sustainable.
