COMsolve’s Ofir Smadja had the opportunity to speak at the 2025 OPTIC Meeting, sharing insights on NG9-1-1 and joining public safety and law enforcement members across Ontario. The session highlighted the role and importance of testing in Canada’s NG9-1-1 rollout. #OPTIC2025
The CRTC has confirmed that the October 6 2025 deadline for implementing Thousands-Block Pooling will be postponed. While a revised implementation period will be announced, the CRTC emphasized that all carriers should continue their efforts towards TBP deployment without delay.
Reminder: CSCN 133 will be held next week in Montreal from October 7th – 8th! We look forward to joining the CNA team and industry participants for productive discussions on Canada’s numbering framework. #CSCN #NANP #numbering #CNA #telecomindustry
With CRTC’s decision 2025-252, carriers are now required to track TN utilization by exchange area, collect reports from resellers, and file demand forecasts. Those without a robust inventory system risk being denied new numbers and may face costly audits. #nsuite #numbering #crtc
With more Canadians using satellite-enabled phones, SOS texting, and IoT devices, many 9-1-1 calls will rely on third-party relay services before reaching PSAPs. This introduces risks such as lost location data, delays, misrouted calls, and accountability gaps. #ng911 #psap
The province has announced nearly $22 million in additional funding to help emergency response centres upgrade to Next Generation 9-1-1. This is part of Ontario’s larger $208 million investment to modernize its entire emergency communications network. #ng911 #nextgeneration911
COMsolve has developed a dedicated NG9-1-1 testing lab to validate performance under real-world conditions. Our lab enables E2E call testing with real-world network simulations. Contact us for a consultation today: comsolveinc.com/ng9-1-1 #ng911 #nextgeneration911 #psap
In our NG9-1-1 testing sessions, one common issue is inconsistent phone number formatting between wireless and wireline calls. This can result in failed callback functionality for PSAPs, creating a serious operational risk. Learn more about NG9-1-1: comsolveinc.com/ng9-1-1
