I think the power dynamic between subcontractors and GC’s is going to drastically change in the next 5 years.

I’ve worked in, or closely with nearly every major vertical in construction - and none of them do things the same. It’s maddening.


When buying dirt you typically pay the pit for 16 CY for every load, and in turn to the trucker. But you never get 16 CY. We checked 1000s of trucks. On average you’re only getting 14. And we built in that 12.5% on every project to cover ourselves.
