5️⃣ The final theme was the need for continued advocacy for their communities and nature. History shows that the government is not going to implement Indigenous priorities without being pushed.
Black history isn’t just the legacy of slavery, segregation, and systemic racism, but the perseverance and resilience represented by Black joy, community, and celebration. We encourage our members and community to use this month as a springboard to learn more about Black history.
