@SouthwestAir sucks. If I can fly another airline from now on, I will.

Typically, the team acquires what's left in the contract. For example, the Seahawks don't fully guarantee money upon signing after the 1st year. Seattle would be accepting fully guaranteed money in the 3rd year if acquiring a player with contract structured like that.

Hey @corryjoel the thought occurred - do teams often just 'accept' the contract of an acquired player and move forward? Or do they draft a whole new contract with the same terms but have team-specific policies put in place (like workout bonuses language, etc) ?

My look at veteran acquisitions living up to or exceeding expectations during the early part of the 2025 NFL season via @CBSSports. cbssports.com/nfl/news/agent…

Jake Browning has played himself out of a RFA tender in 2026. The lowest 2026 RFA with just matching rights since Browning was an undrafted free agent should be in $3.5M to $3.6M range.

Devin Lloyd is making the most of the Jaguars declining his 5th year in 2026 for $14.751M by being the AFC Defensive Player of the Month.

Puka Nacua is on track for 179 receptions & 2,138 receiving yards. The pace isn't sustainable. It would be interesting if Nacua could set the single record for receptions and/or receiving yards considering he is eligible for a contract extension when this regular season ends.

Tyler Smith got CeeDee Lamb's type of guarantee vesting rather than DaRon Bland's. His injury guarantees in 2027, 2028 & 2029 become fully guaranteed early (on the 5th day of the 2026, 2027 & 2028 league years).

The salary cap hit. The 49ers will be getting $411,765 of cap & cash relief because Nick Bosa won't be earning any more of his 2025 per game roster bonuses. BTW, SF has gotten $3,330,876 of cap relief from Brandon Aiyuk missing 10 games last season due to his knee injury.

@corryjoel does the insurance policy effect the cap hit or just cash flow?

Tough one for anybody who was getting points with the Rams.

Rashee Rice will be able meet individually with Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, OC Matt Nagy & WR coach Connor Embree as well as attend team meetings during the 2nd half of his suspension. Attending or observing practice & participating in group workouts are prohibited.

#Chiefs WR Rashee Rice, suspended the first 6 games for violating the personal conduct policy, is allowed back in KC’s facility after this week, per terms of his suspension. While he can’t practice, Rice can participate in meetings and ramp up for a W7 return vs the #Raiders.

Matt Prater played under a 2nd round RFA tender in 2011 before getting a franchise tag in 2012.

Wasn't Prader franchise by the Broncos?

It's probably happened at some point (early on) since franchise tags were introduced in 1993. A championship caliber team with shaky kicking would be the best candidate for an offer sheet. Sebastian Janikowski played 17 years for the Raiders as a mid-1st round pick.

RFA ever get tagged? Would anyone really offer him an offer sheet at the 2nd round tender? I have a tough time seeing that even for a long-legged kicker. Let's not forget he is still a kicker
