I don’t think it’s controversial to say that anyone who works 40 hours a week should have enough money to buy a house, go on a holiday each year, afford Christmas presents and be able to turn the heating on.
In short, the Budget will make people who wake up early for work, pay more to make it easier for those who don’t wake up until midday. Same old Labour.
If you’ve got 6 children as of April 2026 you’ll be given 14k cash money that you’re not getting today and 21k per annum in total. 378k in benefits per family over 18 years without striking a blow ! Surely a higher threshold before paying tax is the answer !
If you earn over £50,270 a year you will now pay 40% tax even if things are tight for your two-child family and the cost of living is horrendous. If you have six children, Labour will now give you £14,000 extra. What was that about Fairness? #Budget
Breakfast clubs should be free to children whose parents work and who need to drop their children off a little early in order to be able to work. It should not be free for those who don’t work.
