Hey @elonmusk, there is one constitutional way to smash the two party duopoly and create an actual competitive system. We should have proportionally elected legislators from many parties. Fund ballot measures to make this happen, permanently change America for the better.
0 donations from pharma CEOs. 0 donations from Wall St. CEOs. 0 donations from oil company CEOs. 8 million from working people giving $27 at a time. I am very proud of that fact.
I’m of the point of view that disaster relief should be unconditional and apolitical.
Obama calls for an #OpenConvention: "I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges." That is crystal clear. Do not anoint. Have a process to select best candidate! Nancy Pelosi also agrees.
Democrats should choose the high road and enable the best democratic process possible to select a new presidential nominee.
Wanting to beat Trump and anointing a new nominee is contradictory. Do you want to know who the other options are? Would you like a minute to compare and contrast?
“We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.” Barack Obama

Elon Musk's seems to think that Twitter is just an engineering problem to be solved. Of course there are engineering and business model considerations but also big social and political challenges. It requires subtle diplomatic leadership that Elon Musk doesn't seem to possess.
Could all of you join me in never saying that [ANY PERSON] is "worth" $X? A person's worth is not equivalent to how much money or wealth they "have".
Technology governance is unavoidable, whether consciously chosen or not. Public stock corporation, mining consensus, non-profit stewardship, a person hosting an open source Github repo--all technology governance. Each shape the tech they govern. Let's design governance wisely.
If we don't have civil liberties on the web then we don't have civil liberties. We don't have viable market competition to Big tech and so there are significant obstacles to leaving no free speech zones. In a sense we are being corralled into a smaller space of freedom.
