A focus on functionality and edge cases is essential for developers. But it takes a 180-degree shift to imagine being a user.
Developers have a hard time creating usability tasks because they think in terms of functionality rather than user goals.
I wrote "$xxxx per day for activities unrelated to usability testing" in a proposal. And fortunately realized how bad that sounded.
