The 5th grade students in Mrs. Maiello's class participated in an international art contest titled "Racing to the Moon". Students collaborated with their art teacher Ms. McDevitt to create their artwork. Congratulations to Harmony Chin for being chosen as a finalist.
On Nov 23rd, 5 Center Street students were honored at the Village Board meeting as winners of the annual 4th grade, Village of Williston Park essay contest. Students took the place of actual Board members and conducted the business of the Village for the meeting.
Center Street Fall Bookfair, held at Barnes and Noble on Saturday, November 23rd. Student volunteers from Service Club helped out at the event, teachers and Mr. B shared books, and it was a great day for all. Many thanks to the families who came out to support our fundraiser.
As part of their PLTW enrichment unit, 4th graders had to design and build a fictitious plant with structures that allow it to obtain sunlight in a shady area. #WeAreHerricks 🌿
Center Street had 5 winners in the annual Village of Williston Park essay contest. This writing contest is open to 4th grade students who attend the 3 schools within the Village of Williston Park. The winning students will read their essays and be celebrated at the November 23rd.

Sandy Hook Promise’s Start With Hello Week Call to Action is this September 16–20, 2024. The Start With Hello program teaches children to make a difference with their peers in a simple, fun, and impactful way. We wore green for Make a New Friend Monday!
Ms. Matson collaborated with Mrs Mormile’s 3rd grade class on a hero project. They read the book The Man in the Red Bandana which is about a true hero, Welles Crowther, who saved many lives during 9/11. After the story each student received their very own red bandana.
