In 2024, the @genderpolicyrpt published 16 articles, including two microsyllabi from Humphrey graduate students. Two examples: Women in the Take-All-Economy by Naomi Cahn June Carbone & Nancy Levit What a Religious Right to Abortion Means for Religious Liberty by Elizabeth Platt
For research this year we published our biannual Status Report on Women & Girls with the @WomensFndnMN & the Assessment on Women's Economic Security Act. Dr. Christina Ewig testified findings to the Minnesota Legislature, & findings on WESA to the Economic Status of Women Office.
Our third and last event of the year 2024 was "Does Women’s Empowerment Improve Socioeconomic Outcomes?" where Humphrey’s Dr. Ragui Assad and Dr. Kathryn Yount from Emory University presented a report on the impact of global women’s empowerment on socioeconomic development.
On October 15 of this year, the Center hosted the event "Sex Workers are Everywhere: Understanding Sex Work and Sex Worker Movements." Dr. Jayne Swift examined the sociolegal issues impacting sex workers and provided best practices to support students & others in the sex trades.
On April 11th, the Center hosted "The Rights of Nature vs. Human Rights?", an internationally-attended symposium exploring the intersection of the rights of nature and human rights in Ecuador, Colombia, and the United States. Catch the replay: ow.ly/2T5K50UxMc7
2024 was a busy year! This year, we hosted 3 events, published our biannual Status Report on Women & Girls+ with @WomensFndnMN, published 16 articles on The Gender Policy Report (@GenderPolicyRpt), and mentored three Gender Policy Report summer graduate fellows. #UMNProud
