What a mess Shoreditch High Street is for cycling. A disgrace a road this widely does not have protected cycle tracks

Thank you Sustrans for your brilliant work on this issue

Two-thirds of UK adults feel that it is too dangerous to cycle on the roads.🚲 It shouldn't be this way. We need to invest in safe, accessible cycling infrastructure so that more people can choose #ActiveTravel for their everyday journeys.

My argument exactly

"Once these changes have bedded in, opposition collapses. For instance, in Waltham Forest [a London borough], 44% of residents objected to their Low-Traffic Neighborhood before it was created. But 5 years on, only 1.7% wanted to see the change reversed." theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Saw this cheerful dad with his kids trying to make their way up the Hatfield Road in the traffic. It shouldn’t be this difficult or dangerous

My 5yo daughter asked to cycle on the road today (as she always does), because it’s so wide and not full of lamp-posts etc. I chose a quiet stretch on a Sat morning and we rode 2 X 2. But within 30 seconds a driver hooted us to get out of their way. It made her jump. I … 1/3

Just met the lovely Helen who lives round the corner from me - this is the the bike she takes her kids to school on, with tailgater. She told me, ‘I’ve cycled all over the world and St Albans is the most dangerous place I’ve ever cycled!’
