Happy Wednesday! Can you name this tune? Answer: Lincolnshire Posy! Upon his travels Percy Grainger recorded various singers capturing style and character of their folk songs. Grainger managed to maintain exact styles rather than altering creating a portrait of the originals.
Join us for a bit of nostalgia - can you name this tune from our 2019 concert? ..................... Answer: Gustav Holst’s Second Suite in F for Military Band! Holst wrote this suite back in 1911 and ever since then it has been considered a staple in wind band repertoire!
Join us for a little CYWE throwback! Can you name this tune from our 2019 concert? .................... Answer: English Folk Song Suite by popular English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams! This is known to be one of his most famous works.
