Failure is a part of life we have little choice over. Learning from failure, on the other hand, is optional.

I’m most likely going to hug each of my 4th graders 15 times today. #🤷🏾‍♂️

Don't question your sanity if you suddenly discover a hard-driving desire for something that you previously ran away from. God employs time to “green-light” change.

When you fall, slip, or flip upside down, forgive yourself. Because if you don't, your mirrors will reflect your mistake(s).

Indeed, a triumphal moment in US history, and another step in planning for the next generation. #KetanjiBrownJackson

We too easily become convinced of things that trouble our minds and disturb our souls. Every now and then, be slow to believe. And sometimes, don’t believe at all.

In the intervals between being in company with others (solitude), we talk and listen to ourselves. We may also even hear the voice of God.

For this fresh and unused week, I pray for wisdom. And, that I may see the hidden side of every situation.

Please pray for my school. Today is our first day back—unmasked. I’ve been praying for this day to come. But, truthfully speaking, my anxiety is at a level 🔟 right now.

**My contribution to “Throwback Thursday” (in words)** …living life on autopilot, with toxic stress, and behind perceived barriers.

July 4th... & so, the Declaration of Independence says all men are created equal. Equal to what? What men? Only white men? Isn't it something that they wrote this in 1776 when African Americans were enslaved? They weren't thinking about us then, but we're thinking about us now!

Teaching students to recognize privilege isn't about feeling guilt or blame due to their identities. It's about examining the power people have in different situations—and helping them recognize opportunities to advocate for others. learningforjustice.org/magazine/desti…

Even children appreciate justice. Occasionally, I would choose to ignore unwanted behavior in our classroom. And when I did, my little 3rd graders would check me with their eyes. Their eyes would say, “Hey, Mr. J, please correct this behavior, or WE WILL. #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd
