Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them.

The practice of morality, which means guarding your three doors of body, speech, and mind from indulging in unwholesome activities


Our intention should not be spoiled by the 8 worldly preoccupations: gain or loss, pleasure or pain, praise or criticism, fame or infamy.


When such transference between beings does occur it is the result of some very strong unbroken karmic connection from the past.


It is most unlikely that we shall actually be able to take on the sufferings of others and give them our happiness.


Humanness and thus the shared aspiration of gaining happiness and avoiding suffering are of prime importance.


Through actual practice in his daily life, man well fulfills the aim of all religion, whatever his denomination.


and the patience developed through reasoned conviction in the Dharma.


the patience of voluntarily accepting hardship


There are different types of patience: the patience of being indifferent to the harm inflicted by others


which means a complete non-attachment or non-identification with all thoughts, feelings, perceptions, physical sensations, and ideas.


Enlightenment is the ending of rebirth


only suffering and confusion will ensue.


then no matter how much knowledge or education you have, no matter how much material progress is made


If the love within your mind is lost, if you continue to see other beings as enemies


It is also important to keep in mind the limitations imposed by nature itself.


However, not finding something does not mean that it does not exist. It only proves that the experiment was incapable of finding it.


I realize that results of inquiries are dependent on the experiments employed to achieve them.


If there is love, there is hope to have real families, real brotherhood, real equanimity, real peace.


and we can avoid the grave sin of casting aside any religious teaching.


we can escape the ruinous error of sectarian discrimination and partisanship
