@HighSierraMan I know I'm preaching to the Nic Choir here, but have u noticed how many major crix have never seen most of Nic's films & seem to have no problem admitting this while dismissing films they've never seen? Try to imagine this mindset vis a vis Kubrick, Scorsese et al.
@HighSierraMan There are nine Nic Roeg films that no one seems to have seen, and this is one of them. It's a gem and it's a perfect Nic Pic. Edgy, dark, mysterious, sexy, mad, complex, earthy. #MustSee
I'm so glad Roeg got to make this film. You look at the filmographies of so many visionary directors (Michael Powell, David Lean) & for the last decades of their lives, there's nothing, or almost nothing, just the struggle. But Nic got to make one last film his way.
I shouldn't do this (but grief hightens the senses)... by chance I sat next to Xan on a plane on my way to screen #puffball. I told Nic #Roeg, he laughed and quoted Oscar Wilde (you know the one)... he'd find the Merlin comment even funnier. theguardian.com/film/2008/jul/…
