Ofsted: Primary school English curricula ‘often weak’ tes.com/magazine/news/… @GraphiaLearning (can't log in!), We've been saying this for such a long time. All the research says focus on building automaticity as we are asking them to pole vault before they can walk!

NPQH is done. Had a great time learning with @Ambition_Inst and had a wonderful group of people to share the experience with. Working as a group of 4 definitely improved the experience. Well done to all who got their results today

Genuinely excited by this and hope we have many school trips which showcase a sense of living history. I have been grumbling for years that we need this as Put du Fou is truly magnificent bbc.com/news/articles/…

I had a great time this evening teaching the Graphia approach to handwriting at @LEADAcadTrust's fantastic @bishopalexlead. What a great staff team! It's so important to teach children that handwriting can be: - fast - fluent - automatic

I have had the best two days conducting a peer review with other heads and leaders for one of our collaborative schools. Informed leaders, committed staff and engaged children: we have so much to be proud of in North West Leicestershire!

I can't wait to deliver this session for L.E.A.D. academy trust and @LEADTSHub schools again. It's a privilege to share research and practical strategies for teaching handwriting in primary and secondary schools.

The new Ofsted Subject Report for English argues "most schools do not give pupils enough teaching and practice to gain high degrees of fluency in...handwriting." Want research-informed, practical CPD on handwriting teaching? Book here: event.bookitbee.com/44635/handwrit… #primaryrocks

I feel like the Summer holiday has started. So ready for a lie down

Why does doing the right thing take so much out of you

Great evening of networking, support and hearing real word scenarios from experienced heads #earlyheadshipcoaching

My favourite programme - EHCO. This evening we have 17 heads and their coaches from our @Ambition_Inst Early headship offer. Session hearing about mistakes experienced heads have made followed by a networking meal ❤️ @LRTSHub

Over 100 minutes on hold to @HMRCcustomers and then it hangs up. Wonderful.

Happy team this morning

NEW! Go granular with Element 4.5 of the GTT-33 hyperlinked retrieval practice and spaced practice strategies from the brilliant books of @KateJones_teach. Special mention to @missgeog92 for her sharing of some of the resources. RT if you would like a copy @ProfCoe @EvidenceInEdu

How's your Monday going? 1/4 of the teacher and TA team down, the school printer is down and my business manager's computer is down, but I'm not, as I've got my @Lumie_lights (free stuff welcome 🤣)

Its such an honour and a privilege interviewing teachers and leaders. Hearing stories, understanding what drives people and taking the time to really listen

Looking forward to meeting other heads today from Leicester's Diocese and having an opportunity to reflect on the challenges of leadership

When the raging sea swells and the scornful winds cry out, it's having a committed crew which gets the ship through safely
